Jobs or Help!

This probably doesn’t belong in this forum, but I figured more people check this one than the business or non-hunting categories. I’m looking for employment and have been sending applications/resumes/references/etc. out to every wildlife and forestry agency you could imagine for the past few months with no luck. I’m a resident of aiken, SC and graduated from Clemson in December with a Bachelor’s of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology. If anyone knows of any private plantations/hunting operations/etc or any job openings in this field, I would greatly appreciate any information. I know this is is a long shot, but it doesn’t hurt to throw myself out there. Thanks fellas.

keep an eye on www.sceg.com, there are a couple jobs that may be posted soon or they could be posted now, Environmental Specialist and Forester

the general guideline is jobs are posted internally for 2 weeks, if no takers then posted externally, but some are posted in both places at the same time

I graduated in Marine Biology from Coll of Charleston, just like you’re finding - not too many jobs in these fields, worked at DNR and got laid off during State budget cuts, then went to the Darwin Institute in Galapagos, if you want to go there that’s possible

Sounds like one heck of a job for someone with the skills and little obligations.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I appreciate all the quick responses and for spending a little time trying to help. I have applied to every federal and state job that I am qualified for, so I have spent a great deal of time on the usajobs and scjobs websites filling out applications. SCE&G has a few jobs, but unfortunately I can’t apply for any of the forester jobs without having a BS in forestry (even though I have equal experience with both wildlife management and forestry through Clemson classes and assistantships). I have sent an email to the fella from Williamsburg county and hope to hear back with some good info. Hope the fact that I’m still young won’t hinder him from allowing me to come show my ability to operate at a higher level, but we will see. Thanks again guys.
