johnson hesitating at low RPM

OK, so it idles fine, and once it gets past about 1800 rpm it runs fine, but between idle and 1800 it will hesitate/bog down/die if you don’t jam the throttle so it flies up past about 2000. It’s more annoying than anything, especially when around the dock and trying to load it on the trailer. Anyone have any ideas? Sometimes the bulb isn’t hard, but I would think if it was a flow problem it wouldn’t idle.

could be a bad spot in the optical sensor that controls timing
carbs could be out of sync

So, I did some looking around and found a pin hole fuel leak and a crack on the vapor seperator. I’m guessing that would/could cause the problems I’m having?

I’m also guessing that since it leaks when I pump up the bulb, that it is sucking air once the motor is running?
