May, 2018 - We headed out of Remeley’s Point at 4:20 am and headed towards the SW Banks running 21kts on the way out. When we hit the ledge we passed over a nice weedline in 170ft and the water temperature was 72 degrees. We started to see more flying fish around 220ft and some scattered weeds with large patches. We fished a planer https://amzn.to/2IDAEDq down deep and various sea witches https://amzn.to/2GxKmoJ on the flat lines and outriggers. We decided to put lines in and it took about an hour before our first bite. Put the first fish on the boat and then pitched to another. We now had 2 really nice fish on but broke one off at the boat and had the other spit the hook. Now fully awake we began doing laps back thru where we had the hook up. Over the next 2 hours we had steady action with singles and doubles with hook ups being every 20-30 minutes. Action slowed down around 11:30 and didn’t have another bite other than a small shark. Pushed out to 500ft and then back in to 170ft and couldn’t get anything going. Pulled lines at 3:00 pm and ran 30kts home. Ended the day with 6 dolphin and lost just as many.
