I am looking for suggestions on the best make for an aluminium jon boat in the Low Country. Current boat is a Duracraft and is starting to have some corrosion issues so we are thinking about replacing the hull Looking at something in the 16-17 ft range with a side console. Already have a nice yamaha 50 hp 4s to put on it. It will be used mostly in saltwater. I think that SeaArk uses thicker aluminium so that might be good. Would like to hear all suggestions and reviews. thanks
Look at the Cast & Blast @ Hanckel. Aluminum boat but better than a Jon boat will hold your 50 just fine.
I’d stop and check put that 14’ Bentz near Hay Tire on Hwy 17. If it is in decent shape, I’d take a Bentz way before a metal boat. Spent plenty of time in metal boats. good for lots of stuff. But, I’d rather a little Bentz any day.

Sea Ark is a good choice. I know on the "superjon"series the aluminum is thicker. Had a 1652 with a 50 F50 and it was a great boat and very fast.

I’ve owned polar kraft, fisher marine, lowe, duracraft, G3, and a Sears boat. Out of all those the G3 was built with the thickest metal and was solid as a tank. The fisher marine was “run over by a skidder” once, we beat that thing back out and went fishing. No leaks but it looked kinda funny.

The "Penn"sion Plan
don’t forget the ALWELD’s
same exact material as the seaark superjons, all welded, and a about 20% less money.
lifetime warranty on the welds
none of the other welded boats that I am aware of stand behind their product like ALWELD.
Thanks for the ideas.
