Still haven’t found any willing to eat my croakers. Cut menhaden is what they want.

I wish I could get doubles on bull reds like that. Only happens occasionally for me. Keep at it Capt!

What’s really hilarious is the simple fact that you think you are making fun of me. Quit the opposite my friend! You are just too easy… ( No offense Easy. ) The few we caught today were on a few live finger mullet and some frozen shrimp. Heat was a bit high, but it was an unrefusable invite. Also a good supper, first fried food since the heart attack.
Don’t be surprised about catching reds Fritz, dang things are everywhere and probably the easiest fish to catch other than shark. I just have a personal objection to holding a fish that has to be released for a photo op. That me, don’t let it upset you so much. Hug them Reds bo!. I remember a few posts with you giving others heck with the photo stuff too. Does look like you have your clients holding them better now, I guess you live and learn. Still wonder at the stress of timing the double photos, but who am other than a redneck asshat. What ever makes you money.
More fish that will never reach breeder status, but I’m the one hurting the fishery.

I think we’ve covered this one Fritz. You should switch it up and target some slots and take some home. Those kids wouldn’t know the difference between 20" and 26".
You take things too personal and narrow. You specifically state my Name as doing bad and then you specifically state your name as the one hurting the fishery? What you fail to see is the big picture as so many do Fritz, our coast is exploding with growth and so is tourism. That only means more and more exploitation of our natural resources. How many new guides would you say have come about in the last 10 or so years?
Edit: you and I can will probably continue to argue back and forth about this, but I’d say in the not too distant future our fishing pressure is going to be ridiculous especially in the areas you fish. Keep those photo coming. Being a dedicated conservationist and all, I wonder why you don’t tag your fish for future research?
“Why Bruce?”
Great report Capt Fritz. While we bicker back and forth about silly things from time to time, I’ve personally met about a dozen people over the years that have chartered with you. Every one of them have said pretty much the exact same two things about you:
Keep up the good work Capt!
Nice reds for sure. Jetties here I come on Monday after my Daytona trip!

If all these people are catching all these bulls, are they really that rare and really that “endangered”? Seriously…
Bull reds are about the heartiest fish there is…a few pics aren’t going to “wipe them out.”

They eat constantly. I’ve caught the same fish twice in a day…verified by pictures. The point is that we may be hurting them by doing what we’re doing, and if we are, shouldn’t we care?

My retort would be, if you are catching them twice a day…you probably aren’t hurting them. I have caught hundreds of bull reds (In Texas), and multiple fish had hooks in their mouths, cut line out their mouths from people cutting their line, rusted hooks hanging out their anus, reds with old and new shark wounds…it ran the gamut. If any fish could handle the constant c&r, it would be the redfish…and the bull shark…
