LEG3, LessGovt, Pete and Bonzo had an awesome trip to the Outcrop yesterday…Chinese fire drill to knock the rust off and then we got down to business…lots of bright colors were the trick…missed a few fish here and there but ended up with 6 very solid 15-18lb dolphin, a couple of pnuts and one small AJ…great time with a bunch of great fellas…I forget how important the little things are out there, and we found out quickly…let’s do it again boys!
Oh yea and thanks to Penny for the good luck charm…see if you can spot where Little Bunny Foo Foo makes his presence known…
and by the way, I had a billfish or super-squid or submarine on after putting the blue and white islander back about 150 yards…the fight lasted about 90 seconds as he peeled off line so quickly it blistered my thumb as the drag was on lockdown like Attica…thought he was gonna spool me until I put just enough pressure on him to pop the line…at the swivel…ok, now reel in that 82 miles of line…saw him jump once just to say F U…not sure what kind of fish, but he was H U G E and awesome…LEG3 bought me that Islander last year for my birthday…guess what this Weds is? MY BIRTHDAY!
I got that same ride! . 225ex Edgewater. Fished her out of chucktown a few years and boated a lot of fish
Mines now registered as a Bahamian vessel out of Hopetown Abaco. Been there 4 years , 2 hurricanes , still fishing her hard. Got a f250 yam on mine. Great boat and still catching a lot of fish…
Small boat but plays big,
Like the net on back of the helm station on yours. Nice fishing setup too.
Right on “gettin there”! She’s been a great boat & you’re right, she’s a 23 that thinks she’s 26 or 27. I need to compare notes with you on a couple things/quirks.
Great day out on the deep blue with the fellas. Fairly slow morning, but when we got on the phins, it was steady & we kept them coming over the rail. Could’ve kept hauling them, but we had it in the plan to bottom fish for a couple hours, but our bottom spots did not put out (except for bait-thieving sharks).
