June 4, 2008 Outcrop

Slow fishing today!

Went straight out and started fishing in 185’ Lines in at 7:15

Nothing for two hrs then caught a little barracuda.

Landed a 30+ lb dolphin at 11:30 and a couple little ones over the next three hours.

Ran into a school of AJ’s and four poles go down. Landed all four.

Four other barracuda. No wahoo/billfish/marlin/tunny/mackerel.

Beautiful sunshine all day. Almost no clouds. Ocean rough. 22kts out and slower returning. Very steep faced waves with very short period. Easy fishing, but tough running. Air Temp in 80’s water at 70.

No wedlines, no debris. Fished around a couple turtles. That was it for structure. Fished out to 450’ and back to 130. Covered lots of water. We sure didn’t find 'em.

Sorry to hear about that, but like I’ve told another member here before the Outcrop is not producing for us this year it seems. We’ve had better action south.

we have done well at the out crop, placed good in the first Scssa tourny fishing that spot, then returned there 3 weeks in a row with good results…got a sail near there last weekend and missed 4-5 others…no we have not killed 30 dolphin but that is never our goal…

Gut Wrench standing by on 68…

I have not crushed it there either, but have always picked up Dolphin there.
