Jupiter, FL 11/30 & 12/1

Went out of Jupiter inlet last Friday & Saturday with my Dad. 80 degrees and flat as a lake both days. The Palm Beach fleet were all live baiting with google eyes and doing nothing. Trolled for about 4 hours with no takers until a large bull dolphin knocked down a flatline. Got a few good jumps out of him before he spit the hook mid-air. Nothing else for the rest of the day so we ran home.

Saturday AM we found one of the best rips I’ve ever seen. Acres of bait, weeds, even a 30 foot palm tree floating in the edge with nobody home. Worked the area for 30 minutes then a sail broke the water chasing the fliers about 30 yards off the bow. Birds, dozens of dolphin and at least 1/2 dozen sails showed up and were busting bait everywhere. Thought for sure that all the baits were about to knocked down but no takers. It was one helluva sight to see even though we could get a fish on the line.

Pulled the lines up and went home. Figured if you can’t catch fish in those conditions they you are not going to catch them anywhere! All the charters were on the radio desperate for help… It was really slow fishing but beautiful to be out there.

Heard a reprot that somebody in Lake Worth FL caught a 25lb sail on live bait off the pier!

Congrats!! One of my favorite places!! We have stayed at Pa-Ja
where you can walk home from Square Grouper. Where do you stay?</font id=“blue”>

Hey shevlin… I guess we fed them too well the day before… sorry!

Glad you had good seas though and some time with your dad!

The square grouper kicks a$$! Love that place. I’m sure you had to walk home because that bar is always kicking.

My dad now lives near Jupiter Farms, right past the 95/Indiantown road exit. Grew up in Palm Beach and fished out of the Sailfish Club. Kind of new to Jupiter (even though is only 10 miles from PB) but i’m finally getting my bearings with every trip down there.
