The new four stroke motors will still weight the same as the two strokes from what I have been told. I do not believe the 300 will be released first but the 250 will probably be the first one released.

From reds to marlin you got it.

just seems like to me, if they are going to build a light weight 4 stroke V6, they would sell alot more in the lower hp range than the upper(limilted application), of course, the flagship motor allways sells the lower hp models. I’m suprised they haven’t introduced a higher hp V8 for the new bigger express boats coming out(34ft+). I gues its better to sell three 350’s than a pair of 450’s

whats the point in something bigger then the F350? Yamaha owns that market and its good that they are focusing on short shaft motors now for bass boats and bay boats which are a majority of sales. The new f25 will out perform any 25 on the market but it is very heavy. Makes a great little skiff motor but not very good for transporting. Give it time and everyone will have lighter faster four strokes.

A friend of mine just got back from working the Ft. Lauderdale show, big outboard express(30-45 ft)’ are the hottest thing at the show, the era of the gas 30-40 inboard express is done, and a with a few exceptions with IPS power set ups, the big Yamahas are beating the diesel inboards on speed and fuel burn in that size range. But like I said, a lighter 175-225 would be much more welcome

I have read on other forums these motors are 4.2liter v6 dohc weighing about 505 pounds, pushing bass boats in excess of 80mph. similar performance to the merc 250 pro xs.

Tomorrow should be the big day for Yamaha!

Nothing new on the site. This is BS.

we heard they will be seen on the bass boats first. I sell skeeters and they are suppose to be building a new boat to go with these motors for next year sometime. I imagine we will see them by summer and maybe have a display at the winter boat show. I am really interested though.
