just got a canon T3

I just picked up a new canon T3 with the 18-55 lens. I am new to dslr cameras but not to photography. What other lens should I get and what features should I try out. I mostly plan on shooting landscapes on the road as well as hopefully some kick butt lightning pics

I just bought my son a T3i for graduation. A couple of the pros on here recommended a good 50mm (can’t remember what f-stop) and an 18-135. Hopefully one of them will come along with some words of wisdom because I stole these from them. The words, not the lenses.

I am looking at a 55-300 and a 150 or 200 macro

Alan, did you ever pick up another lens?

I got the 28-135 and am a big fan. I do wish I would have gotten the 18-135 as I lost a bit of the wide angle capability with the new one.

That’s a great all purpose lens. You don’t have to take it off for 95% of your shooting and its a decent Fstop.

I just got the Nikon D5200. Have the stock 18-55mm that came with it and a Sigma 70-300mm. What do y’all recommend for a prime 35 or 50mm lens? or would you at all. I am just getting into this and have a lot to learn, but any help is appreciated.

Picked up a 75-300 lens. I love it however if I only take 1 lens with me I always grab the wrong one
