I have a portable waste tank that I take camping for dumping my tanks under the camper if the site does not have sewer hook up. Last time I went I hooked it behind my truck and along the way a pc of rope got hung around the front two caster wheels preventing the caster from swivelling or the wheels from spinning so the asphalt ate over 1/4 way thru the wheels & rim (by the way the rim is plastic & tire is about 1" thick solid rubber). Call several places that sell these tanks & they cannot get replacement wheels. So I looked on line & have hard time finding ones to work & the few I found that would are way more than I felt they were worth. So I google the tank manufacturer & call them. They want to charge me $57 for two stinking 5" x 1 1/4" wheels and that is not including tax & shipping. So I keep looking & finally thought about googling the company that makes the wheels. Send pics of wheels (part number got melted off I think)& tell them my delima & they said no problem. They said they will UPS me two at no cost. I asked them I guess they must have life time warranty or something. He said no they are so cheap that it would not be worth charging you for only two, they are only a dollar or so each. Two dollors & the greedy tank company marks them up from $2 to $57. We wonder why the economy is so bad, because everyone is trying to get rich off of each sell they make. Lesson learned, thank god for google.
handling charge
of course joking but when one adds up the actual cost of shipping and handling it can easily exceed $20 - $30

Sounds like a business opportunity. Buy a large box of those wheels from the manufacturer and sell them on eBay for a reasonable price. Might not make you rich, but might pay for some ‘fun tickets’.

I installed pneumatic wheels/tires from Northern on mine and it’s the deal! Almost silent when behind the truck. Search Woodall’s for the details if you’re interested.
Glad there are still good companies that take care of customers. I know it’s tough to send something like that out for free though!
