Just One More 5/17

The weatherman finally told the truth. It was NW and snotty in the am, but laid down nicely for the ride home.

We started north at the Scarp, and fished all day downwind to the GT Hole. I wanted to stay and work some fish near the Scarp, but we had a couple of sick customers so we stayed downwind. Finally found a weedline 10 miles east of the GT Hole. After a while the guys said let’s leave to try and find tuna. I knew better than to leave fish to find fish, but after I explained the options to them, they made the choice to pull up and run to the hole. Nada at the hole.

Tally for the day: 13 dolphin, missed about 5 hits, 1 small blackfin

Glad you guys got out there and caught some.

Better than sitting at the hill…I spent about 8 hours cleaning the boat and fixing a couple of items that needed it for a while now.

It’s always a dilema to leave the fish, you’re right, most of the time it doesn’t pay off.

yep. up til about 9:30 it was pretty sporty. they’d throw a 7-8’er in there once in awhile to keep you on your toes.

The group I have coming next Friday just want to catch fish… should be a lot of fun. Ryan set us up down the road from you. Warn the neighbors and bring in the pets after dark…
