First trip of the year and we left a lot later than planned and ran into an ocean that wasn’t fun for a 25CC. Fished the 450 line and started in 200 feet around 845AM. Used a go-pro on one of the dredges and can’t wait to see the footage later. Picked at dolphin until we got to 350 feet. Found a weed line and a nice rip and caught 7 dolphin and missed about 4 more. At 1130, center rigger blows up and we see a blue marlin hooked up. Fought the fish for 2.5 hours, grabbed the leader, & watched her swim off to fight another day. Packed everything up after that and started home. Great ride back and great way to start the year. Can’t wait to get back out there.

you will have to share the video sounds like an awsome day
That is one thing I am dying to hookup with out there. Caught everything there is to catch except a Bill

Sounds a lot like our day. Except we lost the marlin and caught some nice bottom fish on the way in.
Great fishing. You may not want to fight the marlin that long as it will cause undue stress on both man and fish , no to mention lost
fishing time. Go ahead and either back down on fish or quarter the
fish off port or starboard , run it down some and save some time.
Fish and angler will depart that much stronger.
Just looked at the Go-Pro footage off one of the dredges…schoolie dolphin are trying to eat the dredge within the first 5 minutes of being in the water. What amazing footage! Can’t wait to look at the rest. Will post videos as soon as I figure out how to do it.
