Just Released Two Day Report 6/22 & 6/24

Day One:

Fished the 350 line and started in 200 ft. Tons of scattered grass and tons of birds. Caught two small dolphin right away and then pushed offshore to get away from all the grass. Got away from the grass and the right short gets slammed hard, and we see the blue marlin on! The fish dives and screams line off of our Tiagra 50. The fish then takes off towards the left side of the boat and puts on a huge show right next to the boat. We think the fish was tail wrapped bc on the last jump, the fish broke off right in the middle of the double line. Wish we caught him, but it was awesome to see the show. Kept fishing offshore and the left short pops and we see a sailfish hooked up. Land him within about 20 min and released him to fight another day. Found a weed line in 600 ft that went for miles. We ended up going 13/19 on dolphin with a few studs in size. Also caught a small shark. Overall great day and a great ride home.

Tally:
13 Dolphin
1 Sail

Day Two:

Started on the 350 line again in 200 feet of water. Totally different day…crazy how much difference a day will make. Tons of cloud cover, lots of rain storms, and very little bait in the water. Caught one dolphin right away. Started to troll offshore and the center rigger gets slammed. We look back to see another tail walking blue marlin! The fish dives down and comes unglued…def upsetting. Fished hard the rest of the day and had two other mystery bites and had two other small dolphin look at our baits. Slow day for sure but an excellent ride home. Everyone was def sad about missing another blue marlin, but having two bites in two days was awesome. Can’t wait to go again ASAP.
