I bought trailer slicks from a company in Fla called SURFIX. They are 5" wide !/2" thick and came in 54" lengths. I called and talked to them and they cut them to perfectly fit the length of the bunks on my trailer. I removed the carpet ( it holds water against the wood and will prematurly rot out the bunks) and installed the slicks. WOW!!! I loaded my 24’ boat with ease not sinking the trailer as was the case with the carpet. Then decided to see how she offloads. Slick as snot on ice. These things are the s–t for sure. No more carpet!
They are nice until you have an unintended unloading. Just make sure your strap and winch are in good shape and the safety chain stays on.

Yeah i had them on my last trailer but not as nice as these and yes you want the winch hooked up until launch. I only live a couple of blocks from the landing so it makes it nice
