Just Wondering?.

How many times do you throw at a pole when there are plenty of shrimp on the bait? Thanks.

One. Usually the net will run the shrimp off, and going on through the rest of your pole set allows them to return.

occasionally we will try a second throw if there were good numbers, especially if the net wasn’t quite as perfect as we were hoping for. But as Lead said, the 2nd throw rarely produces what we hoped for. Typically better to run the poles and let the shrimp settle back in IMO

One night almost all our shrimp came from 1 pole. So we just sat there and worked all the way around it. Just kept throwing until no shrimp came up. Waited 10-15 min and started again. After a while we would run the rest of the poles then come back.

Bananas or Taco’s may call for an extra throw, but if done correctly, one throw should be sufficient.

I only use one pole, and throw every 2 or 3 minutes when they are there. They will run from the net, but I don’t believe that the return. The shrimp are coming by in a big school, that is why you stay on em while they are there. Once they have come through they will go to the grass or deep water. I have coolered out in 20 minutes on just one pole.

If I have two guys on the bow, one lefty and one righty, we’ll throw two nets at one time, but in those occasions, there are two sets of bait balls, one to the left of the pole for the right hander, and one to the right for the left hander. If there are good numbers we can limit out real quick.

thanks for all the information, that helps. I like the idea of working around the pole some, appreciate that
