Edit: Looked on Amazon after posting here and rave reviews on there. 4.5 rating with 171 reviews. 80% of them gave it a 5. Got 2 will be delivered Thursday.
These come from china .Sometimes they change the color. They are ok for about $20 .I still have a few but when they crap out throw them away. I like okuma map pro . They get the job done on a low budget.your reels can be found on ebay cheap.
Yea. Assumed they were from China, but the reviews sounded good for what that’s worth.
Thanks! I’ll be sure to check them out quicker than I planned so I can return them if I want.
If I were gonna go cheap on a casting reel, I would do with the Diawa Millionare. Shakespere makes a cheap version like this one shown too. Sometimes you can find old 6500’s on ebay for good prices. I bought one of the old 6500 c3’s off there for $45 and it works great.
I bought a couple of them this summer and they have worked well so far for me. I think I paid right at $50 for each with free shipping. They have the same 5.2:1 gear ratio as my Abu Garcia reels and carbon fiber drag washers too… I like them better than the Diawa Millionaire for sure. The Okuma Magda Pro combo is a heckuva deal though, no doubt, if you don’t mind having a line counter. I’m interested in trying one of the KastKing spinning reels with the bait runner feature as well…
Team Shad Up & Fish
If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
One of my guys here at work used the Spinning reels on the coast in Charleston for Sheepshead. He says they have lasted good in the salt and have a good drag. I was thinking about the baitrunners as well. since my Penn’s are getting wore out. LOL
“My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.”
Good to hear. I was curious about how these things hold up with salt water use as I’ll be using these for sheeps as well.
Sounds like it might be worth trying their spinning reels if you are going to use them bait fishing. Personally, I only use spinning tackle for casting artificials, so I am a bit leery of trying such a low end spinning reel for constant casting. I like Penn’s (Battle II) for that.
Looked at that and then checked online and there are hundreds of reviews online on their spinning reels.
I changed my mind and now want to try one. I really don’t have a need to justify buying one right now, but I may have to buy one as a present for my grandson. He normally is with me when he fishes, so it would only make sense for me to keep it at my house.
