Kay Largo, by yak

I have searched this site already and have not had much luck finding good info…so.

The family will be in Key Largo for a few days over Christmas and I will have the yak along. Any advice/pointers for getting in a little fishing while there?

Call me, I grew up in Miami. There’s not a lot of easy places to put in at that would be interesting at the same time. The east side of the Card Sound Bridge might be fun, I hear there’s a city park just south of mm 88 you might want to check out (the Plantation Yacht Harbor hotel use to be there before they knocked it down). Look into John Pennekamp State Park too. You have to go to Robbie’s Marina (mm 72?)to feed the wild tarpon by hand for a couple of bucks. The large tarpon there are 60-80 pounders. No hooks allowed :frowning:

…have you tried asking the KayakFishingStuff.com “Florida’s"forum”. Their a great bunch of guys…and girls. We did a “Mosquito Lagoon” trip with 20 of them. I’m sure they’d help you out.
