Kayak Afternoon Inshore Slam

I went out today to one of my favorite spots in the yak cause its close and not much paddling. The fish were biting but I was bug bait! The no seeums were chomping me for lunch. I tried to fight threw it but to no avail. I decided to pack it in an regroup for a few hours and hit the incoming tide a few hours after low.

Went back out wearing britches, long sleeve, & lots of OFF!

I started off throwing the trout trick & got a couple of bites but nothing committed. Switched it up to a Zoom 6" Trick Worm - Natural Blue Color. Great action with these worms and they are less expensive than some of the other lures being marketed and more to a pack. This color produced 3 Trout 12", 14" 15", & 1 Flounder 16".

I switched up my lure after 10 throws and no takers. Put on Zoom 6" Trick Worm - Watermelon Seed Color. This produced 1 Red Fish & Puffer Fish.

Also threw a Bass Assassin - 4" Sea Shad w/ Paddle Tail & Berkley Gulp! 2" New Penny Crab landed 2 Red Fish.

Amazing day & beautiful weather for the most part. First Inshore this year!!!

Congrats on your slam!

The bugs were ruthless out there! Relatively cool weather and plenty of fish biting made it tolerable, evident by your inshore slam. The “Cutter” spray that I used was useless in fending off the no-see-ums… did the OFF! fare much better?

Try the Avon Skin so soft “BugGuard” spray. No smell, no greasy mess, and the gnats WILL stay away. Plus, you have sunscreen built in!

Actually it did work for around 30 minutes or so then I had to reapply to my hat and head. Hate that stuff! Britches and long sleeve were the ticket.

I work at a Marina in Little River and this little trick always works. It sounds crazy but get a dryer sheet and rub it all over your self and then put it in your pocket, no more no-see-ums!

Nice catches, always good to get an inshore slam
