In my opinion fishing in 10-15ft of water off the beach Is going to get sharks or skates…maybe some whiting this time of year.
I fish Edisto beach a lot and the quality fish are close to shore.
Again, this just my opinion.
Look up the hobie pro angler. I use them to chase tarpon, kings, Spanish, and sharks. It’s a, low percentage game except for the sharks.

Cut mullet, How about those trout on Pine Island?
We took the yaks to Pine Island last summer. Husband said no poles. I arrived first to sand bar in about 14 inches of water. Boom Yow! Trout, tons of them, if I had a cast net I could of had dinner! (I know better.) This fish panic went on for 10 minutes and then got quite…scary quiet…a large black tip was leaving the flat before tide. He came so close I touched him with my paddle, he then blasted me with a huge spray of water! He leaves and here comes the trout and the husband. He couldn’t believe it, we look like a bunch of labs chasing a tennis ball. Insane trout!
I always go to the Marina and buy a beer for the ships store captain. He tells me the tourist fish locations. When I told him about the trout he says,“Oh you found the trout hole, guess that make you a local. How in the hell did you get out there?” I gave him a tourist answer," Iswam…"
He knows I am a serious fisherman now. Now he needs 2 beers to bribe!
