Kayak cart question

I’m going to finally get around to making a kayak cart this weekend. I’ve looked at plenty of designs and I’d like to go with the PVC/threaded rod axle/harbor freight wheels. My question is; do you guys have a preference between the type with the pool noodle cradles and the type where the PVC goes through the scupper holes? This is for a malibu x-factor?

I’m guessing the cradle style fits multiple kayaks, but that’s not a big concern. Is there an advantage to the scupper hole types? Should I use the push handle type to keep it upright? Thanks.

I’d say go with what you think would work best. Make sure the scuppers can handle the stresses that a scupper cart can put on 'em.

I ended up getting a scupper hole cart for my Ride 135. If your scupper holes can handle the cart then this seems the way to go as the carts you have to strap are hard to secure IMO. The scupper hole types give you a secure fit.

I like the scupper cart just don’t put a lot of weight on the yak while using it

Thanks guys. I assume the scuppers can handle it. Guess I’ll find out.
