Morning guys! I’m thinking of making a kayak cart (hopefully using parts already available like my deer cart spoked wheels with bearings). I’m thinking more of accessing long “walk in” duck hunting spots than using it for beach fishing, but it would also be useful for carting my fully loaded yak to and from the ramp to keep my launch time under 2 minutes. I’d love to see some pictures of what y’all have for ideas! Let’s see um!
Sup Dan! There’s a slew of good youtube videos on how to make them out of pvc. I built one a while back that has held up pretty well. Make sure to use big, WIDE wheels on a sturdy axle.
Cool! Thanks Carl. Nice name btw. Did you go with balloon type wheels or just some wide rubber wheels? I think my deer cart wheels would work fine for trails or pavement, but I think they would be less than worthless on soft sand or in a swampy area. How’s the fishing in Charleston been? I haven’t been down there in a while, but plan to head down in the next couple of weeks.
Harbor Freight has 8" inflatable wheels for $3.99 each. I used 2 of those and PVC and made an inexpensive, lightweight and portable (comes apart) cart that work for either of my yaks.

There are alot of good ones on YouTube. The generic designs probably work on most yaks, but I had to do a little research & adjusting to make one fit my Native Ultimate. If that’s what you’ve got, PM me & I’ll send some photos.
DF is spot on with the pneumatic tires from Harbor Freight. You won’t be happy with hard tires.
I put hard tires on mine and they sink right into the sand. X5 on the big inflatable tires!
The fishing has been hit or miss lately. All this rain has my creek spots looking like chocolate milk. Let me know when you make your way down here, let’s catch some fish.
