I am hoping someone here can help me. I am an avid kayak fisherman but fish mostly in Florida. My daughters fiance` is a pilot in the Air Force based in Charleston. He bought a kayak and I am coming into town at the end of July to show him how to fish. My question is this, can someone tell me a good place to launch and fish. He is a novice fisherman and we will most likely fish on a Saturday. Away from heavy boat traffic is preferred. I’ve fished the oyster bar area north of the IOP several times with a guide. Is there a launch site up there? Also, since he is new to fishing, any deeper water areas that hold trout? Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Kayak fishing is a great sport and I hope to get him off to a good start.
