How about this, we meet the 2nd Tuesday (just for the sake of argument) at Salty Mikes</font id=“size4”></font id=“red”>. “Membership Dues” are a round of beers. We keep it very informal for now. Just get together, tell some lies, and maybe plan a trip or two. I am working on a Tourny for the fall/late summer. The “club” could be involved. One way I am looking at handling the insurance is to have an Official weigh in after an informal Tournament. (More to come on that)
I think we (the Charleston Crew) should get together with some of the guys down in Beaufort/Hilton Head and vice versa. I think we could all benefit from each others knowledge of specific areas and different techniques. To me, that is what this club should be about.
There seems to be more interest in this now then there was last year, so lets start small and see where we can go with it!!
BTW, I think I am fishing Thursday, anyone game??? (1st outing of the LCYA, hell yeah!!!)

Hey, being down here in GA, I wont be able to attend our little happy hours regularly so could we get some one to post up about anything I (and others who for what ever reason missout) might miss such as guys getting together to fish on the weekends and such. I usually know if I’m coming up about a week in advance so maybe we can get together for a little sand lot tournament (everyone interested shows up at a given loaction and brings $5 or a lure or something and biggest fish of the day wins) or just a lazy after noon sitting in the mud at Copahee:smiley:.
In our club at FCKA we don’t have any membership dues, we have a website with forum, and we get sponsors to provide prizes for our monthly tournaments(Which are also free). We have a tournament at a different location each month to introduce members to fishing spots they would probalby never have tried. They also get to first hand advice from other club members and see how each other sets up their kayaks. We have monthly meetings from 7-9 on a Thursday night where we get a local guide to regurgitate advice and we go from there. We hold it at a restaraunt that can hold the members attending and have a good time. We also post google earth maps of launch locations and people can use that to figure out where to fish on their own.
how about this friday at northpark grill.i have a gig (acoustic) from 7-10pm.good food as well as drinks of course.in otranto plaza down from the piggly wiggly.would like to meet some of you anyway.
I second DolphinD’s motion.
Salty Mikes next Tuesday works best for me. I’m going on a canoeing/camping trip this weekend down the Tyger river so I can’t make it Friday night.
Tuesday was just an idea. Thursday is the weekly Scb&G ■■■■ talking event, Tues. is poker (call me if you want to play), and sunday is of course for Sopranos and Simpsons.
Monday??? On Wednesdays Salty’s fills up with quite a bit of wildlife and scenery . I am up for whatever.
I am really amazed at this response, nice to hear from ya mike, this time last year I think that we had maybe a third this many folks in this forum. I like JSuber’s ideas. Anyone know what would be involved in looking into a site of our own? Also, what ever we decide, we should post flyers or something at local shops and/or run a little quip in the paper(sunday fishing section). I met a lot of folks at the festival who are into kayak fishing that don’t really use a computer much but I did tell them about this site. DOes anyone else know Andy “follymon”? I can’t remember his last name but he is one of these folks I was talking about and I know he’s interested and a great guy, I’ve fished with him before several times. Where’s Scott Townsend? I know he’s been around too.
