My son and I have never kayak fished on the SC coast and would like some advice on where, when, and how. A couple of easy trips would be good to start out with.
I’m not trying to be sarcastic, but a general location besides south carolina coast might help me answer, and what is your abiltiy, yaks, ect…, what do you want to fish for? I’ll tell everything I know, cept specific spots.
I put in at Bushy park Monday and only got 1sm. tout and catfish. The garfish were gumming my mudminnow to death and finally gave up on live bait.
It’s all about weather and good luck here in the lowcountry.
Welcome aboard!
I agree with cutmullet, depends on what type of fishing you’re looking at. A good easy trip would be putting in at the old pitt st. bridge. As soon as you park, you could throw in at the creek and just fish around all those creeks for reds and flounders. I caught a 25" red about 3-4 weeks ago at the cove, but have not seen any flounders yet. I you need directions or anything other info, just ask.
