kayak fishing in the morning

Any of you guys with a yak want to chase some schooling fish in the morning? Conditions looking good…probably fish from about 7- 8:30

Just casting for me. Probably flukes. Having a hooked fish slapping around with treble hooks can be dangerous in the kayak. Believe me!! LOL Carrying bait on the kayak can be a PITA. Besides Richard isn’t at the ramp during the week any more and David pulled out early this morning after not selling a single bait, so I think he may be about done for the weekdays also. I would call him first if anyone is looking for bait in the water during the week.

BTW, if anyone else wants to go and doesn’t have a kayak, I have an extra I can bring along.

Jeremy, I’ll be putting by the stairs near the parking lot.

I’ve got the boat hooked up and was thinking about going myself in the morning. It will be my first trip to the lake in 6 weeks and my first to see if there was any schooling action going on. I was planning on putting in at the dam, but I may ride to Shull Island instead. I might see y’all there. Good luck.

Well, we made it out this morning and saw quite a bit of schooling, but most of it was off in the distance and nothing like it was the day before with them closer to the park. We did get a shot at them once in a while though and the morning was not lost as Weston landed his first ever kayak striper!..which turned out to be the only one caught.

Absolutely beautiful morning on the lake with some good company.
