Kayak for fishing, my body size?

I am 6’, 220lb (so slightly overweight but not huge), comfortable on water, but beginner at kayaking (can paddle canoes ok).

If i wanted a salt water kayak that would be comfortable, allow me to fish, and be enjoyable to drop into rivers and lakes for fun in the afternoon, any suggestions?

I am 6’2", 210lbs and I have a hobie. Its the Hank Parker fishing model. I love it and I went with that model because it has 4 molded in rod holders, and the width was the largest at 30" I believe… now I am not sure on the width but I went with the wider beam for stability over speed. I wanted to be safe and speed just gets you trouble! It also has the mirage drive system which I love! I can paddle with my legs and have both hands free to keep fishing, or eat or drink. I have used this in the lakes and down the Chattahoochee so far. I will be putting it in the ocean come August. I am quite happy with it. It has 3 hatches in the boat and one that sits right in front of your seat and it has a tackle box that fits in it. I usually put what I will be using that day in there so I don’t have to keep reaching in my bag. To be honest, the only complaint I had and I have fixed it since was the water coming through the drive system. There is a piece that you can put over it to reduce the water which I have but just haven’t installed yet. The problem I had was that the water would get my pant leg went. So I just tied up my pant legs and problem sovled!
I hope this helps you.

I am a little bigger than you but I run a Tarpon 160 and I don’t have any problems… any boat made these days is made to float like 350 pounds easy so the obnly real question is what is comfortable for you… The Native line has the most comfortabel seats I know of and if yer near Charleston come out to the east coast canoe and kayak festival this weekend and try a few out… Dolphin Dave form Time out sports will be there and he is the man to get ya sorted out…

He took the jugbelly clouser like an anemic sea trout on crack…

I tested out the Hobie Outback and Revolution today, that Mirage drive is a blast.

Think Ill go for the revolution if i can talk the wife into it, easier to paddle if you get tired of peddle
