While visiting Texas a few weeks ago, I met a gentleman that started a company called Supernova Fishing Lights. Among other things, he has several lights for kayaks that look pretty sweet. There are some interior lights for rigging at dusk/dark and some exterior lights that would definitely improve night-kayak safety. These exterior lights won’t meet USCG regs, but it looks like they could be a great addition. I might look into them when I 1 pole from a kayak next shrimp season.
In the meantime, I just ordered a set of interior lights. I’l let you know how they turn out. Here’s the website:

Quick question for the group: what do you think of these submersible lights? (http://www.supernovafishinglights.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3053171) Sounds like they attract baitfish. Might be pretty sweet when casting for bait. Might also be able to use it for safety lighting.
Get a yak attack visi pole for your safety light, and a headlamp for your “interior” light. Done!

Kinda pricey for bling. What Dave said.
smoothdog, when you light up your kayak like a boat powered by an outboard that is how you will be treated by a 17 ft center console … be careful with to much lighting
