I have a quick question about whether to use a kayak or a canoe for fishing in the marsh I have access to both but can only store one at my house for next year just trying to figure out which one makes more sense I know the kayak is easier lifting and transporting but I have a trolling motor for the canoe any suggestions?
Not knowing what kind of kayak you have it’s hard to say definitively but, personally I’d prefer the stability of a kayak to a canoe. Also, unless I am mistaken (and my wife says I often am), putting a motor on a boat means you have to register it. Thought I read that somewhere.

As soon as you put a on motor, gas or electric, you’re supposed to register your boat with DNR.
I kayak fish and can definitely say that is the way to go. You can paddle to a good amount of fishing spots. Not really a need for a motor. And as the others have stated, any motorized vessel has to be registered with DNR. Enjoy the exercise of the paddling and tear the fish up. There are also a lot more fishing options/accessories for kayaks than most canoes.

appreciate the ■■■■■■■■ I think I’m going to stick with the kayak seems easier to use and like a better choice given the type of fishing I will be doing.
