Kayak Repair

I have 2 kayaks that have both been dragged across concrete and pavement and are patched at the very back on the bottom. I noticed when I took them out last weekend that the repair job has been worn through. What can I use to repair the hole? Some sort of epoxy or something?

Also, I need to get a few rod holders and mount them. Flush mount and cheap is what I’m looking for. Where should I look?

I haven’t fished out of mine much, but I plan on doing more. Mine are sit-in rec boats (Perception Acadia 12.5), and I’d like to try a SOT like the Tarpon or the Heritage Redfish.

I don’t know about the repair job, mine haven’t started leaking yet, but I do my share of draggin them on pavement. I just installed 2 used flushmount rod holders on my rec. kayak (sit-in ) Look to an aqaintance that is gutting a boat with flushmount rod holders attached… worked for me

the answer lies in your plan.

When you cut the holes for the rod holders use the pieces you cut out, you will need to tape up the inside of the yak and then melt the plastic and spread it over the area you need to repair.
