I “inherited” an Emotion Fisherman (14 ft), and since I am new to kayak fishing, I am trying to set it up for fishing. I’m not real satisfied with it, but my biggest complaint is the seat. The Emoyion seat is a flimsy strap-in. Any suggestions on a replacement?
I am fairly new to the sport. But what I have read about as far as people replacing their seats is a lot of people like the Surf to Summit brand seats. They have a few different variations that should work well.
I have a surf to summit gts expedition seat and it is AWESOME.
It is well worth the money. If it will fit your kayak then do your back and butt a favor and get one!!
Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even though checkered with failure, than to take ranks with those poor spirits who never enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
I use a boat cushion to sit on and i use a cooler ( doubles as my livewell) as my backrest on my ocean kayak scrambler xt…It was the cheapest and the most comfortable way to rig mine …I went through 3 different seats before I decided to rig up my own seat…
