Has anyone kayaked out to the jetties?
I wouldn’t try that one.
Intentionally?

Not recommended!
Roger that. How about 20-60 yards off land by the Grillage?
The current there is horrible at best. There was a group a couple summers ago that were doing it. There’s too many other good places to kayak fish to take the risk.
If I remember correctly there has been a couple yakers didn’t come back from those areas, correct me if i’m wrong!!
Should post in the “Kayak” section here. You’ll have more responses from people that yak fish regularly. Typically the boats that go to the jetties are the Hobies.

“If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles”
I’ve yakked baits out at the grillage and the jetties are and it only has about an hr window where there is no tide. Literally the worst place to kayak in charleston.
I have been kayak fishing for years and run a boat that I regularly fish at the jetties. I would highly recommend against fishing in that area. The conditions can change quickly. The tides are very strong with the water from the cooper, Ashley, and wando pouring through there. Not to mention the waves from the boat traffic. If you are set on fishing out there do not do it alone, make sure to have the proper safety equipment, make sure all of your gear is attached to the yak in case you flip.
Great video, sure you can kayak the jetties!
