Kayakers Beware!

My other business is Edisto Towing and I am also Edisto Sea Rescue. In the last week, I have had to rescue 5 people who tried to kayak to Otter Island. The currents are stronger than most people realize. Across the bar can get extemely rough, and the currents in the Edito River are nasty.

Unless you are very experienced, please don’t attempt this. I will come help you, but don’t put yourself in this situation.

Several years ago, I had to go rescue 16 people takaen by a state DNR person who made the same mistake. They don’t do it anymore.
