Was waiting on Tim to post a report but cant wait any longer…lol…fished labor day and had a pretty good day. Me seth met tim at gardendale early, swapped yaks around and headed for saluda shoals.
Weather was gorgeous and while getting yaks ready Tim quickly puts a small striper on the bank on the first cast. Loaded up and paddled up to the first set of rapids to start our descent.
Had a pretty good day. Ended up with 2 trout around 4# each. A Brown and a rainbow. Didnt weigh tim’s but both were really similar. My brown went 3#14oz. All together I think we caught 9 or so sttiped fish and lost a few more. Biggest was only about 7-8#
over all great day on the water and even better company.
tim may have some more pix.

Those are some bruiser trout there! What did you catch them on?
Nowake, if you’ve ever seen any of my reports it is obvious I don’t mind reporting details on fishing trips, but with these larger trout it is a different fishery and there are only a very limited amount of them in the river at any given time. Can tell you though…it wasn’t corn!! lol

I fish the Chattooga all the time and put my buddy on a big brown. He asked me about fishing with corn and my reply was “ive fished a many of years with corn and went home hungry”.
That was a fun trip! I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to slow down that water flow.
This one is when you first got that brown.

This one was not the biggest, but your first kayak striper.

One I got that morning.
