hey everybody just got me a kayak. i am new to kayaks and was wondering if there are any places that i can put in that would be first timer friendly around the charleston area. has to be salt or brackish water as i’m going for reds and trout. looking to head out sunday morning. if anybody wants to join me. i was thinking about bushy park. also i will give a report on my new kayak after i use it. it’s a future beach angler 160 dlx. suppose to be good on the water. guess i will see. but any suggestions would be appreciated as far as a location thats not to rough.

I’m currently using that kayak. I enjoy it but it’s extremely heavy compared to some of the others on the market. I have a crate strapped in the back with my tackle sitting in front of it. it works well. it gives me room for 5 rods and an anchor. let me know what you think.
i’m loving mine. been out twice since i got it. only complaint is room in the back. once the cooler goes in only have room for a small tackle box. other than that it’s great. i’ve caught more fish the two times i’ve been out on it than i have since i’ve been here (8yrs).
I’m heading down the 14/15. I’d love to head out if it’s worth bringing the yak down. I haven’t looked at weather or tides yet.
