Kayaking question

I am wanting to launch the kayaks today at that landing up highway 17 past 41. Im not really certain where the kayak and canoe launch is but ive heard about it so I just wanted to check with you guys about where it is exactly and your thoughts about it. We are just wanting to kayak leisurely and relax. Im planning on going in about 1 hour or so so any help ASAP would be appreciated!

There are a few launch spots past 41. I personally enjoy the Paradise Island boat launch. A Google map search of Paradise Island Public Boat Landing, Awendaw, SCý will point you in the right direction. Hope that helps, have fun out there!

not sure if you’re referring to the awendaw creek launch

its a nice hike up 17 past 41 - there are signs for it

it was quiet - i liked it a lot - however, i did not see or catch any fish

I launch at Paradise landing on the Wando, don’t know if that’s where you’re thinking or not. It’s up 17 at Chandler Rd on left side of rd heading out of Mt P, 1 mile past Gadsenville Rd - Copahee Sound access

There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame

paradise is a great spot at any time or tide

From Charleston: Take Hwy. 17 North through Mt. Pleasant and you will soon enter the Awendaw area and the Francis Marion National Forest. You will see signs for the Sewee Visitor and Environmental Education Center…. Go past this center approximately 4+ miles and soon you will see a sign for the AWENDAW CANOE launch with an arrow pointing to the right. Do NOT turn on the first road past the sign, but do turn on the 2nd road past the sign (Rosa Green). Take Rosa Green to the end and on the left you will see the launch area.

Leave the landing and go left…the intracoastal just south of Buck Hall. The other way under 17N.
