Kayaking the Edisto

WHen I get my Kayak(soon I hope) I would like to take a 4-5 hour trip down the edisto river. Anyone do this and where to go?
Can you use the Hobie Mirage drive in the river? I am not too familiar with the river anymore.I use to tube it years ago so I can’t remeber how deep or shallow it is.

Any other rivers near by that anyone likes to share with me would be nice as well.

Try putting at Givhans and going to Jacksonboro. Not much is dif. enough to slow up a kayak I don’t think. Haven’t floated it recently…
I’m from between the N. and South upper Edistos, and we’ve got the South fork pumped just about dry up here! …so you probably don’t want to try anywhere higher than Givhans right now… We haven’t gotten much rain lately so it’s scorched crops or suck up the river.

guy i work with was fishin edisto river on sunday and got 11 largemouth from 10" to 3.5 lbs. using a devils horse and a 5"rebel stickbait. he said the water is way down and you have to find the good holes, but when you get them, they’re in there thick.
