KC kayaks: Anyone with any experience??

Looking primarily for a simple open layout for standing/flyfishing in shallow water. The KC appears to fit the bill- looks almost like a SUP/SOT hybrid. However, its a small company, i dont know anybody with first-hand product knowledge, and theres no real options locally to rent or water test one. I dont expect miracles with respect to paddling dynamics, but i would expect to be able to cover more water than i would on a sup- especially when its blowing. One of my biggest concerns is the durabilty of the thermo-formed hull. Not confident that it would respond well to being drug over the oysters. Thanks for any info you may have.

Last time I was at Half Moon Outfitters in Mount Pleasent they had one. I have never paddled one but they look nice.

Wilderness Systems Ride 135 “Sauer Trout”
Hobie Adventure Island “Rogue Wave”
Hobie Outback “Silverback”

One of my fishing partners last weekend has 2 of them. If you post your question to the Lowcountry Kayak Angler facebook page, you’ll probably get a response.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the info.

I won a KC in a tournament and used it a half dozen times or so until I traded it for a handgun. I probably would have kept it had I not had 3 other yaks at the time. Super stable. much more stable than my native ultimate. paddled similar to the ultimate. would not want to paddle it a long distance but it paddled ok. Liked the wide open layout and the ability to move the seat back and forth and even flip the seat for an elevated platform…if you have the nerve to stand on it. It did slide out of the back of my truck onto the concrete landing with no noticeable damage as well. just my 2cents
