Keep Dumbing Down America

Apparently, the state of Oregon doesn’t think minorities and immigrants are capable of learning. So, to address this issue, they will no longer test for “mastery” (can’t believe they used that word). Yeah, rather than work harder to teach, just find ways to make it easier while expecting (and getting) less from the students.

From an article online:

“The Oregon State Board of Education unanimously voted on Thursday to remove proof of mastery in reading, writing, and math in order to graduate from high school until 2029.”

“The board argued that requiring all students to pass one of several standardized tests or to create an in-depth assignment their teacher judged as meeting state standards was a harmful hurdle for students of color, disabled students, or those learning English as a second language.”

At this rate, the government won’t have to de-program anyone like the communists used to do, most of our citizens will be so dumb they won’t need de-programming. As a minority, I would be very offended by this as it basically says they are not capable of mastering reading, writing and math,

Lets get the full article out there for everyone to see, not just cherrypicking the good crap!

The board argued that requiring all students to pass one of several standardized tests or to create an in-depth assignment their teacher judged as meeting state standards was a harmful hurdle for students of color, disabled students, or those learning English as a second language. The standardized tests will still be given but will not play a role in determining whether students receive their diplomas.

“We haven’t suspended any sort of assessments,” state board member Vicky Lopez Sanchez said during the board meeting. “The only thing we are suspending is the inappropriate use of how those assessments were being used. I think that really is in the best interest of Oregon students.”

Opponents of the new order argued that removing the requirement devalues an Oregon diploma. The opponents argued that helping students with low academic skills through extra instruction in writing and math has helped them. However, supporters claim that forcing students to spend extra time on schoolwork eliminates their opportunity to take an elective and does not translate to how they perform after graduation.

Really want to dumb down our youth, just cancell everything! You know… ban certain books, and tell our kids slavery made black folks better in the end?

More Republican leaders try to ban books on race, LGBTQ issues

November 13, 20211:40 PM ET

In the latest call from Republican leaders to ban certain books in schools, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is telling his state’s department of education to investigate a graphic novel on queer identity being available at a school’s library. He says the content in the book is “sexually explicit” and “pornographic.”

The book, Gender Queer: A Memoir, by Maia Kobabe, is recommended for grades 10 and up by its publisher and tells an autobiographical story of a person who is grappling with their gender and sexual identity.

If you want your children viewing books deemed
"sexually explicit’ or “pornographic” by all means, go for it!

I just don’t see a need for them in a public school library, or the State Government condoning their presence there?

Do you have a problem with the schools passing out Religious paraphernalia in the library?

You know, the ol’ “separation of Church and State” argument, you Liberals are so fond of…

Talk about not being able to handle the truth.
Blacks were better off from slavery in the end. If not for slavery, they would still be running from tigers and the stronger tribes in Africa.
Do you believe white men ran into the woods and captured the slaves?
No it was their black brothers from the strong tribes.

Cmon bruh, I thought you were sharper than that.

What else do you expect Fog Horn Leghorn McMaster to say to please our evangelical crowd in this State? Those were his words…that old geeser probably thinks Vanity Fair is a Penthouse magazine. Gender Queer was the book he was referring to, far from pornographic material, but you go ahead.

What about slavery? Take a visit to our local National Park (Ft. Moultrie) and there are placards all over that museum, showing the painful, horrific travels the slaves were forced to take in coming to this country. Should Ft. Moultrie remove those and tell the kids a different story, and that slavery made them a better person?

Talk about dumbing down America? Removing books and trying to rewrite history is right on track with accomplishing that.

And you’re most certainly from Berkely County.

Good! Many more books should be investigated as well. don’t tell me you haven’t seen videos of school board meetings where the board shut down a parent for reading some of these books out loud because it was “inappropriate” and in elementary school libraries.

of course it is. pedephiles love molding and sexualizing little kids. middle school kids shouldn’t have to listen to this non-sense. Life is hard enough. you are part of the problem. If someone ever pushed this crap on my kids when they were 10 y/o they would be eating through a straw for the foreseeable future.

I hear ya’.

Next thing you know you Lefties will want tampons in the men’s restrooms at Clemson?

Oh wait…
