My son ended a year of deployment last week and I grabbed my crew and headed to kw. didn’t miss to many tiki bars on the way down but made it. met realfish01, pepe and my nephew, we will call IED, (after meeting one in afganastan!) fished for two days for mutton and it was a little tough but put some meat in the boat.
weather has been diff. this yr and the bft and sails have not showed up with the warm winter. did a dive in 126’ on a sportie that had sunk a few years ago off the bar and it was loaded with 35lb black groupers, a moray thick as a basketball and a 250lb+ jewfish! awesome vis and realfish01 will post some great vid!
sat the weather was calling for 25/30kts so we decided to try the tarpon in the harbor, good call, my son caught a 150lb fish which took one hr. and 45min to leader him. next up was IED and he hooked up with a 100+lb tarpon ending after a 1hr. and 30 min fight! first tarpon for both anglers and it made the trip
fished with capt. Dan the Mutton man on the second nature, great charter and great mates! highly recommended if you are headed that way. had a great time and as always great eatin with this crew!
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
