Very last minute, but we’re looking to book a trip in key largo on Wednesday. Anybody have any recommendations? My dad and I want to sight fish on the flats out there. If anybody has got any suggestions I’m all in! Inshore flats sight fishing in the upper keys
I was in a similar situation a couple years ago and ended up booking a trip through Florida Keys Outfitters in Islamorada. All of the more well known guides were booked (it was tarpon season) and I figured I would be okay booking through a reputable shop. They set me up with Raul Montoro of Shallow Tails Guide Service. He’s a Miami native and fishes all over the keys and the park. Good dude and runs a nice 18 Dolphin. He put me on some big tarpon that day, also did a little bit of red fishing back in the lagoons. Not sure of his contact info off hand, but you can google him. You can also call Florida Keys Outfitters and they will set you up with someone. Just know that if you book through the shop it’s going to be a little more expensive than booking a guide directly. Good luck and let us know how y’all did down there when you get back.
