Going to Key Largo ( actually Homestead area) for my granddaughter’s graduation the first week of June; looking for some fishing and preferably meat fish. Any suggestions? I will have no boat and a charter is likely out of reach.
You can get on a party boat very reasonable, half day trip. Yellowtail. Don’t take heavy tackle, they are very shy and the water is clear.
What Pokey said. I recall a couple of 1/2 day “charters” (I guess they’re head boats) that will take you out for $59. Not sure how well they do but it’s cheap.
Not sure how far south you want to go but Robbie’s does a $45 trip.

Almost any bridge will hold mangroves and grunts.
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

I wish I could remember the name of it and if it still exists, but there was an all you can eat Buffet that had the largest variety and delicious food I think I’ve ever been in. Turtle, frog, crab, shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, deer, fish (of several species)… dang near you name it. Hole in the wall on the outskirts of Homestead.
We got stuck down there for a couple of weeks with a broke B1 during an air show. We bought a couple of rods and stopped along the road and fished off the rocks catching and releasing all kinds of stuff using squid.
If you want to do fresh water that will be a good time to fish off any bridge or bank for Bass, bream and oscars. If you decide on this bring your own crickets.
