key west live well

I have a 186cc key west,I was out at the jetties and my live well started leaking around the top were it atached to hull around the top.I had taken on so much water in the hull I almost did not make it in.The dealer re-caulked it with 50 yr caulk.Has anyone else had the same problem?

had a livewell that the plastic cracked. caulk seemed to be a temp fix. it was a rule, generally good imo, they upgraded and no probs now. the pump, they said was too strong for the dia hose.

id redo the whole thng with liberal 5200 and a new pump to be safe

Get a high water alarm in your bilge. If alarm goes off, you know to make sure and quickly close any thru hulls along with making sure you bilge is pumping away.

As for the bait tank, Are you sure it’s from the top lip and not a busted hose or loose clamp. I’d check there also !!

Make sure your overflow port is not clogged.

You can also shorted the height of your drain tube a little and adjust the flow valve to not allow as much water into the bait tank as quickly.

I have the 176 KW, I had a bait tank issue once and it was from a loose clamp, not from what you noted above.

Good Luck !

A friend of mine has had two pumps to fail on 1720CC. Cracks in the pump housing allowed water into bilge.

I would try to adjust water flow into the baitwell to the point where your not pumping more water than the overflow can discharge.

Simple to way to limit water flow is to install a timer at the switch. Had to do this on my front small bait well.

Don’t have high water alarm but got auto bilge. Did your auto bilge not come on, asuuming you have one. Got to have an auto bilge on these boats, especially if you leave it in the water. If that thing kicks on then water is being pumped out and you will notice more than likely.

Bilge quit working while we were fishing, now always watch bilage and lowered livewell intake so far no more problems thanks for ideas.
