key west mini season

just got back from a fabulous week in key west with my family, their spouses and partners and the grand baby. spent the first few days scouting for bugs and they were hard to come by. did some great snorkeling and scuba diving looking for them. had a plan and hit the water wednesday morning at 5:45 with flashlights: homwework payed off as we had a 60 bug limit by 11 AM. the next day we went deep top dive the Vandenberg whic is a 350+ foot ship sunk in 140 foot as an artificial reef. the water temp was 85 top to bottom and 80+ foot viz. out new divers had a ball. came in shallow to 60 foot to dive a live bottom which was covered by bull sharks, moved shallow to some reefs, caught some more bugs and the highlight of the trip were three 100+ pound tarpon swimming amongst us, close enought to touch. dragged the boat 1600 miles problem-free and a wonderful time with my family.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Great report! Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the days we use to go for mini season. Please edit your post and put a “enter” between each picture.
