IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW BOAT. IM LOOKING AT THE 244CC KEY WEST AND THE 256CC SEAFOX. WANTED TO GET SOME OUT SIDE IMPUT FROM OTHER ANGLERS ABOUT THESE TWO BOATS “PROS AND CONS”? WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE??
Dig around for info but I believe the Key West would be much better. Quality wise which means alot if gonna have awhile. Interested to see what people think.

IMO, Key West is a better boat. Sea Fox boats depreciate fast. Sold a 3 year 26’ SF CC with twin 150 Mercs for $20,000.

I have had my small KW just under 5 years and I have put over 1940 hours on the boat/motor. I take it offshore bottom fishing and trolling, even before I had my tabs installed. It has been put through its paces, including some high pucker factor moments. It has held up better than I thought it would. The people at KW have always been very helpful when needed. If/when I get another boat, it will probably be another KW, but hopefully a little bigger than what I have now. I do not know a lot about SeaFox, but I am sure there are horror/satisfying stories about both. Good luck with your purchase, and don’t rush to a decision…

I love my 23’. Sure there are better boats, but for the $$$$ it is at the top of the list. Seafox is not in the same class as KW. I would buy another KW. I have toured their Summerville plant and it is impressive. I have had some of their plant workers introduce themselves while I was gassing up the boat and they take pride in their work and product.

My Key West was put through hell and back on offshore trips and held together with no problems. Never had any trouble in the 4 years I had it.

Muddywater…if you are in the market for a boat, buying one new is one of the worst financial decisions u can make. Spend some time on yachtworld, thehulltruth, craigslist and ebay. Search south florida more than anywhere. So many good deals. In many cases u could get 2 nice center console boats for the price of one new Seafox of KW. Do some homework and save urself thousands of dollars but if you must choose btn the two boats and get a new one, get the KW

Fishnbarrles hit the nail on the head. With all the deals on used boat out there right now buying a brand new boat does not make much sence in many cases. Now, I admit I might sound biased because I’ve got a used boat for sale, but the reason I’ve got it for sale is because I was looking to move up in size a got an incredible deal on a used 31 Cape Horn. Not sure what you are looking to spend on a CC but check out my cape horn 24 with twin 175 suzukis at the link below.

No way you can get a new boat of that quality for anywhere near the price. Bottom line, even if my boat does not fit your needs, there are plenty more great values out there on used boats

got a keywest and love it other than the wet ride!! riddin in many a sea fox and i guess i would compare riding in a sea fox to riding in a shoe box, the walls are very thin they are very light and cheaply made!! ive actually spent lots of time fishin and ridin in the 256cc sea fox and i like the layout of the boat other than the foot rest on the leaning post its an ankle buster!! just wish the boat was made more sturdy… the particular one i rode in only had a merc 225 efi and in my opinion is greatly underpowered!! what ever u do get a windless anchor retriever life savers!!!
