Did a half day with well know “Pepe” and had a blast. Nice to have someone else do the rigging etc. for a change. Went out ~1 mile from where our cruise ship was docked. Finished 8 yellowtail, 3 mutton, 1 grouper (20lbs), 4 sharks and a variety of other small snappers.
Had (imported from ?) talapia for dinner that night on the ship and had to leave our catch at the dock. Just don’t seem right??
I’m all for taking kids fishing…Teaching kids it’s ok to grossly over estimate the size of their catch, not so much. That grouper is a fish to be proud of at its real size… no need to lie about. However, if you do feel the need to lie about a fish’s weight it’s generally not a good idea to post a picture of it.
Here’s the one from my camera. Get off his back and take your kid fishing:wink:

Thats a great picture. Funny how everything else in the original picture is the same size except the grouper. Did you just zoom in on the grouper or use photoshop.
You say the second picture is from your camera…well where was the first one from?
We all fish, and tell some great fish stories…but this takes the cake. Credibility obviously is not important to you.
Sir,
I know the difference between a 8 lb grouper, and 800 lb tuna. We all know from the pic that it’s barely legal maybe 23"maybe, but so what? I don’t care if you exagerate about the weight if I see a pic because those who know, know! Most important to me is he’s taking his son fishing and those pix and memories will last forever.
LOL!! The first photoshopped picture has been released. Maybe david will learn something from this guy about pictures and photoshopping, this isn’t the first time davids “scale” has been discussed.

What day was that Red Grouper caught? is that your son?? I was out with my son in September or October and he caught his first Red Grouper and the water was slick like in your picture. Thats a nice grouper. My son's was about 7 lbs. How big was that one?
What, it doesn’t look 20lbs? Don’t know DS from Adam, but does he exagerate often? Thought I’d help a dad live up to his perception. Does any want to buy a camera?
Yes, it’s my son @ 4 or 5 on a borrowed Sea Ray on vac n/naples,fl on a good fishing day. Grouper was bout dinner big. tuna was 880 dressed. 360kg shipped to Japan. Son’s 9 now and buggin the crap out of me now to go shoot a deer at our Pee Dee land or go to Murray for some stripers. Mom says, Family time till Friday afternoon. What to do? Play on d’puter n make fushes bigger:smiley:
My point in posting this trip was we only went about a mile to find good fishing which with the current price of gas, thought it was something neat! But since the post drew out the angered fishermen I will respond!
First, Thank you Tuna for the photo’s medical attention! A picture can be very misleading and of coarse we all know that nauti knows this game well! This particular photo was originally taken at a distance with a 990’ vessel in the background. The captain put the fish at 17lbs and I guessed it at 20, so what!
Nauti, if you are such a big time Keys fisherman, then you know this captain. Whats your problem anyhow. Did another child outfish you again?
