Captain Roy on the Tiki out of Bud & Mary’s. Lots of good guides down there and I’m sure the recommendations above are based on first hand experience. Guess it depends on where you will be staying.

Another affordable option is a split charter out of Robbie’s. Go with Capt. Skye Stanley on the Blue Heaven. Steer clear of the Dirty Boat. http://www.robbies.com/split-charters.htm
Thanks for the info. We will be going next month and staying in both islamorada and key west so either one of those locations. Also, any chance the mahi bite is still on there?
Capt. Dan Zier with Second Nature charters out of Key West. He mainly does bottom fishing, but he is one of the best for sure! Check out his page.

6/20/16 Deep Sea Fishing Report for Islamorada:
“The past week the dolphin bite was similar to what we’ve been seeing the past month and a half. It’s been decent overall, with some days being better than others, but still a few slow days in the mix. We did see some real quality fish the past week, including a few fish over 40 lbs, a fair amount over 20 lbs, and still the average size of 3 - 10 lbs. The fish have been caught while trolling, finding floating debris, and sight fishing them swimming in the weed lines. They have been spread out from 350’ to 2500’ of water, so without a doubt a full day charter is really the only realistic option to target them. On average most of the boats have had anywhere from 6 - 18 fish.”
In lower keys I recommend Capt. Rob Nevious at Jerk Water Charters. He is originally from Summerville.
Now isn’t a real good time to catch pelagics in the keys. Bottom fishing can be really good though. Chris Trosset is a great captain to fish with! His knowledge of the keys offshore is second only to his dad, a living keys legend. Trosset helped a couple anglers set world records this year and he had been on several episodes of addictive fishing. If he’s open, I’d look to him first.
