Heading down to the Key Largo (Tavernier) the last week of July. I’ll have my bay boat with and I’m just looking for some advice on flats I can walk or any type of fly fishing that can be done from a bay boat. I am also considering having a guide for a day so any recommendations would be great. Thanks!
Topwater,
I can’t help you with places to wade or fish, but I did ahve a great guide when I went a few months ago. Here is his website

Joel really was patient with me b/c I am not he ebst caster in the world and the 12wt was kicking my butt. Ever since fishing with him, my casting has improved tremendously. I ahve already booked him for next year. BTW, we probrably saw over 100 tarpon!!
Good Luck,
Whalerman
just fished Tavernier this past week and it was loaded with fish. There is only a small section that is wadeable, plus the huge lemon and bull sharks kept me a little less than focused. However, I jumped several tarpon and had a permit follow. Saw 4 permit on the edges of the flats. A kayak is great but a good guide is invaluable. Do research though, alot are idiots. @ Whale Harbor, opp. bank as the sunbathers, we anchored a 20’ Mako and waded a good bit. saw a nice school of bones and a permit, several sharks. Boat traffic made them spooky, arrive early. Tav. oceanside was hot though.
