Kiawah Island Advice

I am an avid kayak fisherman from Maryland and I regularly fish on my Hobie Outback in the chesapeake bay. I am traveling to Kiawah Island in two weeks for my honeymoon and bringing my and my future wife’s kayaks along. Any advice on launch sites on the island? Also, does anyone know of any regulations staying at the resort there about keeping kayaks on the roof of my car?

At this point a general game plan is to cast net some bait and/or throw artificials in the shallows for reds trout etc. Any further advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Shane

I see lots of kayaks on cars and trucks on Kiawah all the time. Are you going to be staying in a home or villa? The Kiawah bridge is a good launch point, just be careful and watch your footing. There are several flats on the Kiawah river that hold tons of fish. Just about every dock will hold multiple species.
Don’t forget that Kiawah has several ponds that are directly fed by tidal creeks. These ponds have produced more big reds, flounder, trout and black drum than I can carry in a truck.
Can’t go wrong as far as the Kiawah river views tho. Would be a great honeymoon paddle.
Good luck and congrats!!!
