Heading to Kiawah Island in a week…looking for the best bait to use for dock/pier and inlet fishing. Any thoughts???
I’ve been doing well with mud minnows under bobbers near structure for trout. Shrimp under a bobber and cut mullet on the bottom is always an option. On the way out to Kiawah stop by South Side Bait and Tackle on HWY 17. He has all sorts of bait (frozen and live) and can tell you which bait is best right now.
If you can get past the V gate fish the ponds. Bass & Egret Pond have some good fish in them mostly any pond with a saltwater inlet have bass, trout and flounder in them. Use the Google machine and scout it out, if you throw top water watch out for the gators they love them.
